EL MOVIMIENTO TOUR
We are ecstatic to announce our El Movimiento Tour with Pop Pistol. The tour is a collaborative DIY effort that takes both bands through Texas, Midwest and the East Coast. The tour will also document the latino youth art movements we’ve seen on our travels across the country. I can’t wait to see you guys out there!

Jamming With Los Lobos
This weekend was a life affirming amazing weekend. I was standing by the merch as Los Lobos set up for their encore and I look up to see Juan Carlos getting setting up to jam with them. I immediately pull out my phone and think holy shit JC is going to jam with Los Lobos! As I start filming their tour manager signals me on to the stage at which point I try to keep my ‘kid at christmas’ grin off my face and act cool and composed.
We ended up jamming their entire encore with them, a 25 minute set that included Cumbia Raza and La Bamba. What an honor! Juan Carlos and I were ‘trading fours’ with legends, I still can’t believe we had that opportunity. It stands as the greatest musical experience I’ve had thus far. Molotov!!!!
We are a week away from playing with three-time Latin Grammy Winners Molotov at the Beaumont Club in Kansas City. We anxiously awaiting for the opportunity. We need Kansas City to support this event as it will lead to more shows of this caliber coming through! Tickets are totally reasonable for an international band ($24). When we played with them in Chicago the show was a complete blast, a total party. I’m sure next Wednesday night will be the same.

Welcome to our new website!
First of all we want to say thanks to everyone who came out and supported us at our home town shows in June. Special thanks to our brothers Diego Chi and Andres Chaurand for sitting in with us at KC Live!. Also thanks to our horn section, Aaron Linshield and Drew Williams. When they kicked in the riff on “La Murga de Panama” it was pure bliss. It was the beginning of the Making Movies Orquesta and there will be more to come very soon.
There are tons of new hometown shows in our TOUR section. We will be in KC until October when when we hit the road again but while we are home we will get to play with Velorio (our friends from California), Los Lobos, Molotov and Kanrocksas. It’s going to be great!
